The reasons are 4 things.


・You can do anything you want in one window.


That means much easier to modulate master pitch than Serum.



・You can add many oscillators as you want.

Even serum can modulate twice in a once (one of them must be basic shape), PhasePlant can modulate 3 times or more if you want.

You can only 3 oscillators maximum in Serum but Phase Plant can launch groups of oscillators as many as you want.
No limit.

・You can see the modulated waveform in each group.

Serum can't see the modulated wave without osciloscope.

If do so, you must bypass noise, sine wave if direct out mode, filters, effects.

It wastes time...

However, PhasePlant can see the wave in real time. It follows when modulating.

・You can route 3 effects chains each oscillator group.

You can change routing (where you send output to) each group.


BUT
Serum has also the things better than PhasePlant.
You can edit LFO curve easier and use as Envelope mode.
Wavetabe editing, filter types are might be better if you're bass music producer.

You can use filter as effect if own SerumFX anyway.

Conclusion

The advantages of Serum is a bit less than Phase Plant, so Phase Plant is better.
